A responding fire station's type describes its level of staffing and equipment.
Type A (or Class A) fire stations are staffed and/or equipped at a higher level than Type B (Class B) fire stations.
This difference can affect a property's protection class (PC). If a property is within five road miles of a Type A station and meets fire hydrant and other requirements, the worst PC the property can get is an 8.
Credit from Type B stations is limited to PC 9. In other words, if a Type B station is the only station within five road miles of a property, the best PC the property can get is a 9.
You'll see these codes in Protection and in PropertyEDGE.
In Protection, you'll see them after you click on "Responding Fire Stations."
In PropertyEDGE, you'll see them after you click on "Click for Nearest 10 Stations."
