How do I find specifically rated properties using Risk Search?

Find real, assigned rates for similar properties using advanced filters for increased accuracy.

In this article, you'll find answers to these questions:

Why this matters

If you're looking to write policies for a property and want a more accurate picture of similar risks, using the Risk Search tool in WSRB Solutions is a powerful way to find specifically rated properties. Specifically rated properties reflect real-world, WSRB-assigned rates based on field inspections and verified characteristics.

Using the Advanced Search filters helps you:

  • Identify properties in the same Fire Protection Class (PC) and county.

  • Compare buildings with similar construction, sprinkler status, and CSPs.

  • Access actual assigned rates.

This tool gives you a more reflective view of the risk landscape for underwriting purposes—saving time and improving accuracy.

Step-by-step: finding specifically rated properties

1. Log in to WSRB.com with your user name and password.

2. Hover your cursor over "Loss Cost" and select "Risk Search."

6. Use Additional Search Filters. You can refine your search using the following filters (these filters help you find already rated buildings with similar attributes):

    • County

    • Fire Protection Area

    • Protection Class

    • Sprinklered (Yes/No)

    • Construction Code (e.g., Masonry, Frame)

    • Building CSP and Contents CSP

6. Once you've entered your desired criteria, click Search. The results will show buildings WSRB has already inspected and rated, each with their associated, specific loss costs.

Pro tip: why not use Tentative Loss Cost?

Tentative Loss Costs are useful when a building hasn't been inspected yet. But they’re generalized and often higher than a specifically assigned rate. Risk Search helps you find real data on similar risks, giving you a closer estimate when quoting or reviewing a policy.
